Candlelight Concert: November 14th @ 7:30pm

Hampton Presbyterian Church will host a “Candlelight Concert” on Friday, November 14 at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary. This is a celebration of musical talents within and associated with the congregation. The variety of music genres, composers, instruments, and voices should appeal to all. Come and enjoy an evening of giving praise to God for a sample of the incredible musical talent within Hampton Presbyterian Church that is used to worship God on Sundays. Admission is free.

Parenting for Keeps: 7 Things Every Kid Needs

Raising kids is the most important job any parent has.  But, what do our kids really need?  What’s most important for them to ensure healthy development?  This September and October Brian and Renee will be leading a class using a video series called “Playing for Keep” from the Orange Group.  This series presents six (and Renee has come up with a seventh) of the things that kids need.  From the authors:

After 25 years of working in Family Ministry, we’ve learned there are some things adults just can’t do for kids. You can’t force a toddler to love broccoli. You can’t make a teenager “not date him.” And you can’t make a kid love God. Can you? At some point it just starts to break down. That’s why we wrote Playing for Keeps. It’s a book for parents and leaders (and anyone else who influences the lives of kids and teenagers) about six things you can give a kid over time that will make a significant impact. These six things can help give a kid the kind of history that will show them why they matter to God.

The class begins September 14th in the Hospitality Room.

Stewardship Sunday – October 19th.

Throughout the Fall, we have heard from a number of our committee chairs from the Session about the value of our support as it pertains to the various facets of the church’s ministry. You should have received your pledge card for 2015. The Stewardship Committee encourages you to be in prayer as to how you will support the mission of Hampton Presbyterian Church as it moves forward into the future.

You can view a copy of the letter from the Stewardship Committee here.

Adult Mission Trips

Are you interested in putting your faith into action?  Two mission trips are on the horizon this year for Adults.  October 20-25, we will head to New Jersey to help victims of hurricane Sandy; February 7-14, our mission in the Bahamas has invited us to build a new dining hall for their camp.
